At least three $10 billion+ companies bought domain names last week.
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a sales list from Sedo this full of big end users. I count at least three companies with market caps of over $10 billion that bought domain names through Sedo over the past week. There are also many other interesting end user buyers on the list.
The dollar figures aren’t jaw-dropping, but big companies including Guthy-Renker, L-3 Communications and Noble Energy show that the market for good, brandable names is active.
Here are some of the end user domain name purchases from the past week at Sedo:
(You can view previous lists like this here. If you’d like to learn how to sell your domain names like these on Sedo, download this report.)
MyMed.com $25,000 – Interclick Limited, a UK digital marketing agency. A coming soon page suggests the site will have health information and electronic health records.
Evus.us $13,000 – LeadTech is a development shop based in Spain. I’m not sure what this domain is for; perhaps it’s for a client project.
Exeron.com £10,000 – Exeron is a power generation technology company owned by IPS (International Power Supply).
L3T.com $10,000 – L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL), an $11 billion (market cap) technology and aerospace company.
Bionome.com $9,000 – Guthy-Renker, seller of skin and beauty products such as Proactiv.
Nblx.com $7,900 – Noble Energy (NYSE: NBL), a $15 billion (market cap) energy company.
Barata.com $5,000 – PT Barata Indonesia. As best I can tell, this is a large manufacturer of equipment for the energy business.
AnalyticsIQ.com $5,000 – Publicis Media GmbH appears to be part of Publicis Groupe, a $15 billion (market cap) marketing communications company.
Happyholic.com $4,400 – Luis D. Ortiz, star of Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing New York.
CannabisAssociation.com $4,000 – Mart Franchise Venture puts on conferences for the franchise industry. Perhaps it’s going to expand.
DeepFinding.com $4,000 – Point of mindDeutschland SE – DeepFinding offers consulting services to executives and companies.
Koble.com $3,988 – Koble is a business networking platform.
Clever.ai $3,800 – William Tunstall-Pedoe’s last company, Evi, was acquired by Amazon and its technology is used in the Amazon Echo. He’s big on artificial intelligence, and .ai domain names are popular for AI companies.
RubyRubyShop.com $3,088 – T.O.M corp forwards this domain name to RoseRoseShop.com, a site selling beauty products.
Immersive.video $2,900 – The whois is protected, but there’s a coming soon page that suggests the buyer’s name is Ignition Immersive, a cinematic/video company.
HowToGetMoney.com $2,100 – the buyer of this domain name offers a financial eBook.
Stays.co.uk £2,000 – Discovery Bookings International is in the vacation home rental business.
