The Stellar Gospel Music Awards is returning to Nashville, Tennessee after all!

AlwaysAList.com has learned that despite a previous announcement that they were changing its date and moving to another city, the annual celebration of Gospel music will take place on Jan. 18, 2014 in Music City at the legendary Grand Ole Opry House Theatre.

On July 11, 2013, the company that produces the Stellar Gospel Music Awards, Central City Productions, Inc. confirmed to AlwaysAList.com that they were moving the awards show from its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend date to April 5, 2014 and negotiating with other cities. Looks as though they changed there mind.

The Stellar Gospel Music Awards is in the process of securing its hosts for the 2014 broadcast.  Last year’s show was hosted by Mary Mary and Kirk Franklin.  The show will be formally announcing nominees in the coming weeks as well.

Nashville has not been the only home of the Stellar Awards. Having originated in Chicago in 1985, the show has taped in eight different cities including Atlanta, Houston and New York, to name a few.

Earlier this year, Central City Productions CEO, Don Jackson, announced some changes to the eligibility process for the Stellar Gospel Music Awards. To read about those, check out: “Stellar Gospel Awards: Making Big Moves.”
