This obviously does not care about Janarkan, but it ends up being intrigued by the young man and decided to talk to him. He admits that it is actually not her love with her, because it is ultimately very stuck. Heer decided to show Jordan (she gives him the nickname) she is a very funny girl, and the two begin to make the four hundred shots. But the time has come for the wedding the girl, who is to marry her fiance in his native Kashmir. The undeniable quality of the film is, without hesitation, the provision of Ranbir Kapoor. No doubt he has become in a few years, the best actor of his generation, did not tarnish the reputation of his illustrious family. The young actor will likely get several awards for his inspired interpretation of this Indian rocker, lived and devastated by his love in Heer. While the role seemed rather dicey in the second part, at the risk of falling into a caricature Game rocker-who-goes-wrong, Ranbir Kapoor carries the film on his shoulders successfully.
For it must be admitted, the film without Ranbir Kapoor would be nowhere near as good. Indeed, the main actress, who surely was chosen for its name, but that does not even dust ankles of the beautiful Nargis is one of the negative points Rockstar . And that's saying something. The girl did not know how to play other than by unbearable facial expressions and other words in English hyperarticulés. If it happens at times to be fair and to move us, it ruins the overall impression from the next. It's a shame, because with a charismatic actress equal to that of Ranbir Kapoor, the film would have had a completely different magnitude.
Another defect of Rockstar , it is unfortunately the second part. If the first part is excellent, skillfully blending musical moments, small scenes of comedy and dramatic moments, the second suffers from a few lengths and large scenario strings. It is once again rather unfortunate because the scenario was far more original. In fact, the basic idea (it must be heart breaking if it can not be an artist) is very pleasant, and very well developed. Unfortunately, the second part uses little twists justified and badly led, and many musical periods that repeat too much and end up boring the viewer.
The music is still one of the best aspects of the film. AR Rahman is back in great shape despite some weaknesses, but we forgive him, including a magnificent qawwali as we had not had for a long time at the movies. Some rock songs could probably be more rock precisely, but they are very well made, especially Sadaq . Finally, what would a Hindi movie do without its kitsch song in a foreign country? Very little, admittedly, and Rockstar is no exception to the rule with a song in the Czech countries (new, it seems to me) that if we pass the clichés of the genre, is proving very nice listening, thanks to a beautiful melody. Needless to say, the soundtrack of the film, in view of the subject, was something not to be missed, and the mission is accomplished brilliantly by the Indian Mozart again.
Simply put, Rockstar is a very good film, which would have been even better with lead actress most charismatic and a working scenario in the second part. It remains a very pleasant feature film to watch, thanks to the quality of the story, the music and the main actor. This suggests good days for Imtiaz Ali, Ranbir Kapoor and possibly for Bollywood, which needs a lot of movies this bill more frequently.
