It’s time to play that age-old game everyone loves…what’s in Stan Musial’s wallet?
Wait. You don’t know what that game is? Well, one ambitious seller on eBay was hoping you did. That’s right, someone is selling the late-Hall of Famer’s wallet and, get this, everything that’s inside it. Reportedly, the wallet was purchased during an estate sale last October.
So, what’s in the wallet? Pretty much the same thing that’s in yours…except that it was owned by the greatest hitter in the history of the St. Louis Cardinals.
A photo of the Musial family
A photo of Lillian, Stan’s wife of 72 years
A photo of Pope John Paul II
Two health care cards
A temporary ID card for Musial’s pacemaker
An auto insurance card
A hospital ID card
An honorary membership card from the Missouri Sheriffs’ Association
A membership card from a homeowners’ association
A $100 bill that Musial always carried “for emergencies.”
Turns out, Musial and I are pretty much alike. For example…here’s my wallet.
In mine.
Two Stewart Pizzeria customer loyalty cards
A card that indicates that I got a tetanus card last May
Illinois driver’s license
Fortune cookie fortune – “Your sports team will be very successful this year”
VISA gift card with a balance of $0.47
Rockford Public Library library card (expired)
Culture Shock 80/20 card
VISA debit and credit cards
Seven dollars cash
A $100 bill “for emergencies”
Pretty much identical, right?
Now, before you think I’m trying to make a joke here, I’ve seriously carried that $100 bill with me for close to twenty years. But, seeing Musial’s for sale online reminds me that I should probably get to spending mine since, as the picture illustrates, you can’t take it with you.
So…what’s in your wallet?
